Privacy policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Sipwise Smart Bottle handles personal information when you use the Sipwise companion app, connected Sipwise bottles, the sipwise.store website, and our customer support services. Contact us at support@sipwise.store with questions about the companion app or requests concerning your information.
The companion-app section below covers mobile-app information. The online-store section covers browsing and purchasing through our Shopify-powered store. Online-store advertising provisions do not authorize the use of Health Connect or Apple Health information for advertising.

Sipwise companion app and connected bottles
Information we collect
- Account and profile information: a unique account identifier, your name, email address when provided through sign-in, date of birth, gender, height, weight, activity level, timezone, and settings. Guest use also creates a technical account identifier. Signing in with Apple or Google may provide identity information permitted by that service; we do not receive your Apple or Google password.
- Hydration information: drink type, amount, water contribution, date and time, source, hydration goals, and related preferences. Records may come from manual entry, a connected Sipwise bottle, or an authorized health integration. Profile metrics and hydration records are stored on your device and synchronized with Sipwise's backend.
- Bottle and device information: registered bottle identifiers and ownership information, bottle information needed for connectivity and support, push-notification tokens, app platform, and relevant device or app metadata. Battery status and bottle settings are used to operate the connected device.
- App activity and communications: last active time, notification/message interactions, and support reports or feature requests you choose to submit. Reports may include operating-system information and connected-bottle model, firmware, and identifier.
- Location and connection information: device coordinates when you permit location access, IP addresses, and approximate location derived from IP addresses. Device location supports local-weather hydration estimates. IP-derived country, region, city, and rounded coordinates also support service insights. Denying device location permission does not prevent an IP-based lookup.
Apple Health and Health Connect
Health integration is optional. You can enter profile details manually, log drinks, and use hydration tracking without granting health permissions. With your permission, the app can:
- Read height and weight to prefill your profile and personalize hydration estimates. On Apple Health, it can also read date of birth and biological sex for that purpose.
- Read water intake to bring health records into your Sipwise hydration log and check existing records when updating entries.
- Write the water contribution of drinks you log or your bottle measures, and update or remove the corresponding Sipwise-created health records when you edit or delete those drinks.
- Read the start and end times of recent completed workouts to calculate a post-workout hydration adjustment and reminder. Raw workout sessions are processed on your device; your hydration goal can reflect that adjustment.
Health-derived profile information and imported water records become part of your Sipwise profile or hydration history and are synchronized with our backend. We use health information to provide and improve hydration-related features. We do not sell Apple Health or Health Connect information or use it for targeted advertising. Access is limited to the permissions you grant. You can revoke permission in Apple Health or Health Connect settings and turn off water sync in the Sipwise app.
Sipwise is a general wellness app. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Hydration estimates are not a substitute for professional medical advice or prescribed fluid restrictions.
How we use app information
We use information to operate your account, synchronize your records, connect and manage bottles, calculate hydration estimates, deliver reminders and account-related notifications, provide support, prevent abuse, and understand and improve service performance. Authorized Sipwise personnel can access information needed for those tasks, including account-linked records and aggregated service insights.
Promotional notifications are controlled by the promotional-notification preference in the app. You can also manage notification permissions in your device settings. Account-security and bottle-ownership messages are separate from promotional messages. App-store distribution builds do not initialize Microsoft Clarity session recording.
Services that process app information
- Firebase and Google: authentication, sign-in security, installation identifiers, and push-notification delivery. Apple processes Sign in with Apple when you choose that method.
- Backend and database hosting providers: storage and processing of Sipwise account, hydration, bottle, support, and notification records. Our configured app backend uses Render, with the database supplied by our configured database-hosting provider.
- Open-Meteo: weather requests containing location coordinates used for hydration estimates.
- GeoJS: IP-address lookups used to determine approximate location for weather fallback and service insights.
These services receive information needed for their respective functions. Processing may take place outside your country, subject to applicable data protection requirements. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer, subject to applicable requirements. Opening an external shopping or other website is governed by that site's privacy practices.
Security and retention
The configured production app endpoints use HTTPS to protect information in transit. We restrict access to service data, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
We retain account and hydration information while needed to provide your account and requested features. You can request account deletion as described below. Support correspondence, bottle-transfer audit records, security logs, backups, and records required by law may have separate retention periods where necessary to resolve issues, prevent abuse, comply with obligations, or maintain recovery systems. Account association may be removed from retained support or transfer records. We do not claim that account deletion immediately removes every backup or independent service-provider log. Contact us for information about retention applicable to your request.
Delete your Sipwise app account
You can delete your account directly in the app:
- Open Summary → Settings → Account profile.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
- Complete Apple or Google identity verification if prompted.
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot access it, email support@sipwise.store with the subject Delete my Sipwise app account. Include the email associated with your Sipwise account. For Sign in with Apple, this may be an Apple private-relay address. If you used a guest account without an email, explain that in your request so we can help identify the account securely. You do not need to reinstall the app to request deletion. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, or health history.
We verify that a request comes from the account holder before deleting the account. We aim to complete verified email deletion requests within 30 days. If additional time is permitted and necessary, we explain the reason and expected completion time. We communicate verification steps and applicable retention exceptions. Successful in-app deletion removes your active Sipwise profile, hydration history, preferences, push registration, account-linked message records, and Firebase login identity. Apple authorization is revoked for Apple-linked accounts. The app also clears local profile, drink log, inbox, and paired-bottle list.
Deleting a Sipwise app account does not delete online-store orders, independent Apple or Google accounts, or water records held in Apple Health or Health Connect. Manage health records in the relevant health service. Separately retained support, audit, legal, security, and backup records are subject to the retention terms above.
Your other choices and rights
You can edit profile information and drinks in the app, change notification preferences, and manage Bluetooth, location, and health permissions through your device settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, receive a copy of, or delete personal information, withdraw consent, restrict or object to processing, and complain to a data protection authority. Email support@sipwise.store to make a request. We may need to verify your identity.
Children
The service is not intended for children who are below the applicable age for independently consenting to its use. If you believe a child has provided personal information without the required authorization, contact us so we can review and address the information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or requirements change. We publish updates on this page and revise the date above. Where required, we provide additional notice or obtain consent.
